ONPARADE. 2010.11

Rene Gurskov’s menswear sensibilities have mashed with the demands of politic dressing, and it’s never looked better.

The FW10 collection carries the uniform essence without appearing kitschy; not an easy feat for a fledgeling label needing to turn as many heads as possible. Gurskov has designed the marching uniform for the modern gentleman and remains fresh by fusing 3 looks together; sport , uniform, greaser and ultimate dandy.

The loose trouser marks the beginning of trend death for pin thin leg cuts, and all male genitalia breaths a sigh of relief. Choice pieces include the perforated dual tone trouser (shown below on two models), and bottoms which fit as a casual jodhpur.

THE FASHION PACK # 2 : LARS JOHANSEN

Lars Johansen - the graphic mastermind behind some of our best prints.
Graduating this spring from Denmarks Design School.

le qustionaire:

What do you do?
Thinking and graphic design.

What inspires you?
Basically anything I see or hear have an inspiring influence on my work but I often find myself going for the 'wrong', 'ugly' and 'off'.

What was your big break?
Getting into collage making, which I would say is still the basic tool or philosophy for everything I do.

What is most essential to what you do?
Putting things together.

What might people be surprised to learn about your job?
I once spend a good three months (together with a good friend) coming up with the concept for a coffeemaker that would produce coffee only when two persons were seated on two chairs at once.

What are the dangers of your job?
Spending too much time on things that are meaningless.

Best and worst career point:
The worst point was definitely packing diapers in the suburbs for a month to earn enough money to pay for school. The best point I feel is just around the corner…

THE FASHION PACK: JOEY MA

.

Questionaire ID`ESQUE : joey MA

.

What do you do?
I work for family business, trading exporting/importing business.
What inspires you?
Abstract oil painting inspires me. Watching people on the street inspires me. Street snapshots inspire me. Modern Architecture inspires me. The way I style my clothings inspires myself.
What was your big break?
I would say my big break was the time I studied in Boston. I was 20yo and I finally started to get to know who I really am. And I realized being in a rather conservative city, I really didn't give a damn about what other people think of me, and ever since then, I just wear whatever I want.
What is most essential to what you do?
The most essential thing to what I do would be mind manipulating. I work with 2 opposite kinds of cultures. As the boss, I need to make a great balance for my employees. Since they are from 2 different countries, 2 different culture backgrounds, so I constantly have to switch my mind back and forth when I communicate with them.
What might people be surprised to learn about your job?
Well, when they first look at me, they will never think I would be in the trading business with fruit products, I think this is the biggest suprise already haha
What are the dangers of your job?
The danger of my job would be dealing with serious corruptions from the customs, ports, farms, etc. I have to constantly check the business bank accounts.
Best and worse career point:
Best career point: To get the deal done with the Middle East countries.
Worst career point: Working with my dad may be haha

This 1970 Danish semi-pornographic movie is based on Henry Miller's novel of the same title. It was directed by late Jens Jørgen Thorsen(with beard and skirt.
Besides being an artist in many directions , Jens was also a great dresser.
Infact one of the few danish style icons

SPRING.

ONHOLIDAY.SPRING:2010.

aseem

The onholiday-collection – fashion for the travelling guy.
A guy who likes both the notorious island Amager and the laid-back faded glam of the French Riviera .
He dresses like a mix of prince Naseem and Donatella Versace.
Active wear mixed with Latino decadence.
The football fields of Amager requires a certain degree of practical clothing - and at la Croisette he just needs to look good.
The collection offers a various range of prints – palm tree and an animal fantasy and of course the Latino classic - leopard print.
The colours are rainy blue/black and the golden colours of wildlife animals – added up with all the bling an European prince can require.
